Four-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Beestinger Decoration, Midwestern origin, circa 1875, cylindrical churn with tooled shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with an elaborate slip-trailed cobalt bee stinger below the number "4". Some fry to cobalt. Small rim chips along with a glazed-over rim chip. Some spots of staining. Small chip on interior of rim. Minor chips on interior where a lid would rest. H 15 3/4".
