One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Crock, attributed to G. & A. Black, Somerfield, PA, circa 1860, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and squared rim, decorated with a brushed cobalt design of hoof-shaped flowers. Heavy chipping to rim. Base chip. Contact mark to shoulder. In-the-firing dryness to base. H 9 1/2".
