Rare Large-Sized Redware Flowerpot with Manganese Floral Decoration, Stamped "SOLOMON BELL / STRASBURG, / Va," circa 1875, unusually large Solomon Bell flowerpot with attached crimp-rimmed saucer and coggled rim, the surface coated in whitish slip and decorated with a manganese swag and hanging flower design. Impressed with incomplete Solomon Bell maker's mark on shoulder. Area of restoration to saucer. Additional damage to saucer. A chip and wear to rim. Heavy flaking to slip coating. H 9".
