Two Pieces of Strasburg, VA Stoneware, last quarter 19th century, a two-gallon stoneware jar with cobalt swag decoration, stamped "J.M. HICKERSON / STRASBURG, VA," paired with a one-gallon jug stamped "J. EBERLY & BRO. / STRASBURG, VA". Jar with large rim chip, large base chip, staining, and cracks around base and in underside. Jug with small base chips, a salt drip, and few in-the-firing contact marks. H (of jar) 10 1/2".
