Very Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware "S.T. SUIT / SUITLAND MD" Whiskey Jug, Western PA Origin, circa 1879, quart-sized, cylindrical jug with tapered neck and squared spout, stenciled in cobalt "S.T. SUIT, / SUITLAND, MD. / LITTLE BROWN JUG / The Whisky in This Jug Was Made 1869. / AND JUGGED BY ME / 1879." A highly unusual salt-glazed and cobalt-stenciled example of S.T. Suit whiskey advertising. Some painted touch-up to burn on left side of stenciling. Tiny rim knick. Height 6 3/4".
