Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Batter Pail, Stamped "WHITES BINGHAMTON," NY State origin, circa 1875, ovoid form with pouring spout and wood-and-metal bail handle decorated with cobalt brushwork around the base of the spout, handle, and ears. Provenance: Lynn White Collection, Readfield, ME. Spidering crack in underside extending 5 1/4" up base. Small chip and two hairlines in spout. Hairlines on reverse. Fry to cobalt. H 9".
