Utica, NY Stoneware Advertising Jug, Stamped "J. FISHER / LYONS, NY," circa 1885, cylindrical jug with sloped spout, decorated with the elaborate slip-trailed cobalt advertising "Quinn & Oster / Wholesale Liquor Dealers / Sole Agents for / Golden Eagle Whiskey / Utica, N.Y." A good example of NY advertising stoneware. Provenance: Lynn White Collection, Readfield, ME. 9" Y-shaped crack on side of jug. A few small areas of light wear to front. Small stone ping to shoulder. H 16".
