One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird-on-Stump Decoration, Stamped "WHITES UTICA," New York State origin, circa 1865, cylindrical jug with rounded shoulder and semi-rounded spout, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt design of a pheasant with turned head, perched on a stump flanked by shrubs. Provenance: Lynn White Collection, Readfield, ME. Minor base chips. Light fry to cobalt. H 11 3/4".
