Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Large Cobalt Leaf Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BURGER / ROCHESTER," circa 1850, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a crisply slip-trailed design of three leaves with scalloped edges, the center leaf slip-trailed "4". Exceptionally strong cobalt and clay coloration. 1 3/4" rim chip. 6 1/2" hairline on front. Stained spot on front. H 11".
