Rare Anna Pottery Stoneware Presentation Inkwell, Dated 1898, wheel-thrown form with tooled flaring base, rounded shoulder, and narrow opening. Incised around its circumference "J.C. Peeler / City Clerk / Anna ills / 1898." Surface covered in a brown Albany slip glaze. Highly unusual form. This presentation piece was made in the final years of Anna stoneware production. Two spout chips. Small chip to shoulder groove, probably in-the-making. H 3" ; Diameter 5 1/2".
