Four-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "N. CLARK JR," Athens, NY origin, circa 1840, semi-ovoid churn with flared collar and applied lug handles, decorated with a triple-stemmed plant bearing large flowers. Includes wooden dasher and an Albany slip glazed lid, stamped 5, which is not original to the churn. Churn in as-made condition with an in-the-firing base chip. Lid with significant restoration to edge of opening and some small restored chips on outer edge. L H 17".
