Open-Handled Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Star Decoration, attributed to Egbert Schoomaker, Kingston, NY, circa 1810, small-sized ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, rounded foot, and open loop handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt star decoration on the front and back. Desirable size and form. Excellent condition with a base chip with faint 3" Y-shaped line extending from it. Line does not extend through to interior, and may have occurred in the firing. A few other very minor base nicks. H 9".
