Five-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1840, ovoid jar with thin rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a bold cobalt vine design bearing numerous leaves and several tulips. Excellent form, size, and decoration. 1 3/4� horizontal hairline in handle. 2 1/2" rim chip with 3" vertical hairline extending from it. H 16 3/8".
