Open-Handled Stoneware Jar with Incised Foliate Decoration, Manhattan, NY origin, early 19th century, ovoid jar with open loop handles and tooled foot and shoulder, decorated on the front and back with a stylized incised foliate design. Decoration filled with cobalt slip. Desirable size, which is somewhat small, measuring approximately one gallon. Light exfoliation around base. Exfoliation to interior. Shallow base chips. One rim chip. H 9".
