Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Inkwell with Asterisk Decoration, New York State origin, circa 1825, with central opening on surface surrounded by three smaller holes. Top surface brushed completely with cobalt slip and decorated around the edge with impressed asterisks. Base chips. Hairlines on underside continuing onto wall of inkwell. H 1 1/8" ; Diameter 2 7/8".
