Early Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Pitcher, New England origin, possibly Goodwin & Webster, Hartford, CT., circa 1810, approximately two-gallon pitcher with ovoid body, small handle, and heavy tooling at base of collar. Front of pitcher and handle decorated with cobalt daubs. 2 1/4" in-the-firing vertical separation on interior of collar, not visible on exterior. Lines at base, which probably occurred in the firing. Minor base chips. H 13 1/2".
