Two Solomon Bell, Strasburg, VA Redware Flowerpots, circa 1875, one with crimped rim and saucer, decorated with brushed manganese swags over a whitish slip ground, and impressed with Solomon Bell maker's mark near base. The second an unsigned example with coggled shoulder and copper and manganese swag decoration. Signed example with traces of green paint, chips and wear to crimped rim, large loss and chip to saucer crimping. Unsigned example with significant wear to rim and surface of pot.
