Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BURGER / ROCHESTER," circa 1860, straight-sided jar with flared rim and applied lug handles, decorated with an artistically-rendered, slip-trailed design of a daisy plant with large blossom, two buds, and several leaves. Some light fry to cobalt. Chip on exterior of rim and additional chips on interior, where a lid would rest. Flaking to underside. A few small chips to underside, which likely occurred in the firing. H 13 1/2".
