Six-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Churn, Midwestern origin, circa 1880, with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt "bee stinger" design under a script cobalt 6. Includes wooden lid. Green paint on interior. Some fry to cobalt. Stone ping on reverse. Two chips on interior ledge for churn lid. Very shallow rim chip, possibly in-the-making. H 17".
