One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Crock, Stamped "SOLOMON BELL / STRASBURG / Va," circa 1870, straight-sided crock with squared rim, decorated with a series of brushed cobalt swags around the shoulder. 7 1/4" spidering crack on side of crock, continuing onto underside. Base chip. Two glazed-over rim chips. One post-firing rim chip. H 9".
