Four-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Ohio origin, circa 1860, ovoid jar with tall collar, squared rim, and applied tab handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt leafy vine design at the shoulder, a "4" flanked by cherries and a pear at the center, and a flowering plant at the base. 2 1/2" hairline on underside, extending 6 1/2" up front of jar. Stone ping on front. Handle chips. H 13 1/2".
