Rare Glazed Redware Figure of a Seated Dog on Base with Basket, probably Adams or Franklin County, PA, circa 1860, figure of a spaniel-like dog with poodle cut, and incised fur on head, chest, back, rear legs, and tail. Stamped eyes and incised details to face. Basket in dog"s mouth with impressed oval decoration. Collar around dog"s neck with impressed circle decoration. Dog seated on oval base with impressed circle border and impressed flower head at center. Surface of dog and base with lead and manganese glaze. Dog with green coloration and brown splotches. Base orange with brown. Dog anatomically correct. Possibly Solomon Miller, Adams County, PA. Base with some professional repairs to edge. Repair to dog"s tail. Height 4 1/2" ; Length 4 1/4".
