Glazed Redware Cat Bank, probably Pennsylvania, 19th century, figure of a seated cat with punched eyes and incised details to face and paws. Reddish-orange with black specks and creamy orange slip applied to face, necks, paws, and tail, all under a clear lead glaze. Minor wear. Height 5 3/8". Provenance: Christie"s Sale for The Seamen"s Bank for Savings, March 13, 1991, Lot #245. Ex-Collection Bill Bertoia.
