Unlike almost every major auction house in the country, we handle our own shipping in-house. We understand how frustrating it can be to have to work with third-party shippers to have your objects delivered to you. Meanwhile, we also understand how important it is for you to receive your objects safely. We have over 40 years of experience safely packing antique ceramics. By default your invoice will include a shipping total via UPS Ground; you can also, of course, pick up objects at our gallery. Please feel free to contact us if you would like a quote. (A very few lots will have notes at the end of their descriptions letting you know that the object is too big or fragile for us to handle shipping ourselves.)

Very Rare Glazed Redware Bowl with Copper Decoration, probably Randolph County, NC, second or third quarter 19th century, thin-walled, flaring bowl with concave rim molding, the interior decorated with splashes of dark copper under a clear lead glaze. This bowl's original discovery near Liberty, North Carolina and marked differences from other North Carolinas potting traditions suggests it was made by one of the Quaker potters of Randolph County. One such potter, Henry Watkins, sometimes used a splashed copper decorative treatment on his ware, although the clay used was typically buff in color. Provenance: An old label on the underside reads, "purchased in 1940's / Wm & Jennie Staley Estate / near Liberty." Very nice condition with rim wear, extremely minor wear to interior, and a 2 1/4" hairline from rim. This condition is unusually fine for redware from this region. Diam. 7 1/2" ; H 1 7/8".
