Two Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jars with Lids, possibly Bland County, VA origin, second half 19th century, both of semi-ovoid form with footed bases, tapered shoulders, and semi-rounded rims, one with incised wavy line decoration to shoulder. Each coated in a dark-olive alkaline glaze and including its original lid with tooled accents and matching glaze. In her notes, Wahler attributes these jars to Bland County, Virginia. Both jars and lids in excellent, essentially as-made condition. H (of taller, including lid) 9 3/4".
