Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jug with Rutile Decoration, possibly Bland County, VA origin, second half 19th century, ovoid jug with tooled spout, the surface covered in a mottled olive-colored alkaline glaze with cream-to-white rutile runs. In her notes, Wahler attributed this jug to Bland County, Virginia. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a minor 1 1/4" in-the-firing fissure to underside. H 11 3/4".
