Rare Copper-Glazed Redware Jar with Elaborate Incised Decoration, Eastern TN or Southwestern VA origin, early to mid 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base and flaring collar with semi-rounded rim, decorated with alternating bands of straight and wavy combed incising to the shoulder and midsection. Surface covered in a dark-green lead-and-copper glaze. Some professional restoration to chips and wear to rim. Some professional restoration to glaze wear on body of jar. Some additional unrestored wear to rim and surface. H 10 1/4".
