Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar with Glass Run, Lincoln County, NC origin, second or third quarter 19th century, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, arched strap handles, and narrow mouth with semi-rounded rim, the surface covered in a mottled olive alkaline glaze with glass run to one handle. A jar of closely-related form is marked "T R" for Thomas Ritchie on one handle. Rim with a small chip and wear. Wear and small chips to one handle. Area of wear to opposing handle. An approximately 2" x 2" area of restoration to one side. H 14 3/4".
