Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar, Catawba Valley, NC origin, second half 19th century, ovoid jar with flattened rim, curved lug handles, and incised straight and wavy line decoration to shoulder, the surface covered in an olive-green alkaline glaze. A 2" rim chip and 3/4" rim chip. Surface wear to rim and body of jar. A thin 2 3/4" crack from rim. H 13 3/4".
