Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar, Buncombe County, NC origin, Stamped "D," second half 19th century, ovoid jar with flared rim and vertical ribbed-strap handles, the surface covered in a streaky brown alkaline glaze. Unusual open-handled form. Base impressed "D." A 3/8" hole drilled in underside. One rim chip. H 9 1/2".
