Scarce Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jar, Stamped "C.C. BALLARD / HAYS / N.C," circa 1900, wide-mouth, semi-ovoid jar with flattened rim, impressed at shoulder with Cicero C. Ballard maker's mark. Desirable maker's mark and small size to vessel. An approximately 3 3/4" faint surface line from rim on exterior, not visible on interior. Minor chipping to base. Residue from use to surface, including build-up of residue on underside of rim. H 6" ; Diam. (at rim) 7 1/2".
