Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar with Iron-Slip Floral Decoration, attributed to Thomas Chandler, Edgefield District, SC, circa 1850, rotund jar with thin, semi-rounded rim and arched tab handles, iron-slip-decorated on the front and reverse with a large "broken stem" floral motif against an olive alkaline-glazed ground. A restored approximately 6" x 1" section of rim. Minor surface wear. Light staining below one handle. H 15".
