Very Rare Salt-Glazed Stoneware Churn with Incised Poem, Middle TN origin, second half 19th century, ovoid churn with tooled shoulder and flaring, semi-rounded rim, incised at the shoulder with the poem, "Remember me at Morn / Remember me at nite(sic) / Remember me forever and Dont / an Dont for Get to rite(sic)." Incised "4" at shoulder. Missing handle. Some light surface wear around midsection. Very thin sealed crack running across underside and extending 3” up side. H 17 1/4".
