Fine Moravian Manganese-Glazed Redware Jug, Salem, NC origin, circa 1790-1830, highly-ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout and ribbed strap handle, the surface covered in a reddish-brown lead-and-manganese glaze with appealing orange streaks to the neck. Very nice condition for a piece of this origin and age. Base chips. Minor spout nicks. Small flakes and light wear to body. Handle with a shallow 7/8" chip and minor wear. H 13".
