Six Sewer Tile Match Safes, OH origin, early to mid 20th century, a pair of stump-form examples, impressed on underside "THE ARMSTRONG SEWER PIPE CO / CINCINNATI . O.;" a quadruple-stumped example with applied banners, inscribed "E.E.F." and "1925," incised on underside, "E.R.F/ 2/17 - 1925;" a triple-stumped example on oval base; a stump-form example with incised bark and dotted treatment; and a basket-form example with incised and impressed decoration. Largest with a shallow base chip. Quadruple-stumped match safe with losses to two corners and significant loss to applied piece at rim. Minor chipping to one Armstrong match safe. Small base chips to match safe with incised bark and dotted treatment at base. One Armstrong match safe and basket-form match safe in excellent condition. Dimensions (of largest) 9 3/4" x 6" x 3".
