One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "N. CLARK JR ATHENS N.Y," mid 19th century, semi-ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, brush-decorated with an open-petaled tulip motif. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Very nice condition. Small base chips, one of which occurred in the firing. A minor spout chip. An in-the-firing discolored contact mark to shoulder and some to base. H 11 3/4".
