One-Gallon Stoneware Cake Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to William Macquoid, Manhattan, NY, circa 1870, wide, cylindrical form with tooled shoulder, flattened rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed design of a tubular flower with dashed and spotted accents. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. Tacky staining throughout. Minor rim chips. A thin, approximately 2 1/2" crack on underside, continuing 2 1/4" up base on reverse. A minor base chip on reverse. Diam. 9 5/8" ; H 5 5/8".
