One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, attributed to Somerset Potters Works, Somerset, MA, circa 1870, semi-ovoid jug with flared spout, decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed design featuring two leafy stem flanking a scalloped flourished accented with spots. A shallow 5/8" x 3/4" base flake. A small in-the-firing spout chip, which is glazed over. Some minor in-the-firing surface flaws. Unglazed in-the-firing contact marks to base. H (excluding stopper) 11 1/4".
