Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Paddletail Bird Decoration, Stamped "N. A. WHITE & SON, / UTICA, N. Y.," circa 1885, cylindrical jug with tooling to shoulder and spout, decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed design of a crested bird with paddle-shaped tail, perched on a flowering vine. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. A long, sealed horizontal crack at base with a vertical crack extending off from it onto underside. A filled 3/4" x 3/4" spout chip. A minor glazed-over dent and minor glazed-over chip to spout. H 16".
