Rockingham Presentation Hunt Scene Pitcher, Inscribed "CAPT / R.B / ELDRIDGE," attributed to Swan Hill Pottery, South Amboy, NJ, late 19th century, molded pitcher with twig-form handle featuring relief decoration of horsemen and hounds taking down a stag, further decorated above with grapevines and below with leaves. Surface covered in a streaky, reddish-brown Rockingham glaze with white-glazed interior. Front decorated in applied white clay lettering with the name, "CAPT / R.B. ELDRIDGE." Interior decorated with a molded and applied figure of a frog, glazed a mottled brown. Losses to applied lettering. Chipping to interior of spout and rim. Some light surface wear to exterior. Staining to interior. H 7 7/8".
