Glazed Redware Jar with Elaborate Three-Color-Slip Decoration, Southeastern PA origin, early 19th century, wide-bodied, ovoid jar with footed base, semi-squared shoulder with vertically-flanged rim, and ribbed vertical handles, extravagantly-decorated on the front and reverse in cream, copper, and manganese slip with a triple flower or pomegranate motif. Copper-slip stripe decoration to handles. Surface covered in a clear lead glaze. Losses and wear to rim. Wear to shoulder molding. Significant wear to handles. Various flakes of glaze loss to body. Chipping around foot. H 4 3/4" ; Diam. (at base) 5 1/8".
