Sixteen-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "HAMILTON / & / JONES / GREENSBORO / PA," circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, featuring Hamilton & Jones maker's stenciling surrounded by stenciled daisy motifs. Further decorated below with a freehand "16" flanked by dashes and underscored by two stripes. Excellent size. Provenance: Recently surfaced in PA. Very nice condition with some light surface wear. H 23".
