Rare Small-Sized Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Clabber Bowl with Iron Slip Decoration, attributed to Thomas Chandler, Edgefield District, SC, circa 1850, tapered form with tooled rim and applied handle, featuring dramatic slip-trailed looping line decoration in iron slip against a gray-green alkaline-glazed ground. Provenance: From a fifty-year SC collection. Essentially as-made condition with some narrow in-the-firing flakes along bottom edge and minor surface wear. H 5 3/8" ; Diam. 7 1/4".
