Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BURGER / ROCHESTER," NY State origin, circa 1860, ovoid jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a daisy plant. Slip-trailed "2." above. Brushed cobalt highlight to maker's mark. A 3 1/2" inverted Y-shaped line to neck. A 1 7/8" glazed-over line below handle. A shallow in-the-firing contact mark to top of spout. A small chip to interior of spout. H 14 1/2".
