Plainfield, NJ Stoneware Advertising Jug, Stamped "CASE'S PURE CIDER VINEGAR / CLOVER HILL / HUNTERDON CO, N. J.," attributed to the Fulper Pottery, Flemington, NJ, circa 1900, cylindrical jug with tooled spout, the Bristol-slip-coated surface decorated with the slip-trailed cobalt advertising, "Fred W. Dunn. / Plainfield. / N.J." Impressed Case's Cider Vinegar advertising below, highlighted in cobalt. Frederick Dunn (1852-1941) operated a fancy grocery store at North and Park Avenues in Plainfield from 1884 to 1907. A 7/8" in-the-firing base chip. A small spout chip. Traces of old white paint to spout and upper handle, unrelated to any sort of restoration. H 11 1/2".
