Six-Gallon Stoneware Cooler with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "SATTERLEE & MORY . / Ft.EDWARD N Y," circa 1875, cylindrical, jug-form cooler with circular bunghole, squared spout and two applied vertical handles, lavishly-decorated with a large slip-trailed flower accented with dotted trails. Wreath-like cobalt slip-trailing around bunghole. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Desirable form and size, featuring bold, enamel-like cobalt. Heavy staining throughout. Various in-the-firing iron pings to surface. Two minor chips to bunghole. H 20 1/2".
