Six-Quart Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "J.J. LAWLOR, / ALBANY, N. Y.," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird with long tail, perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt accent to maker's mark. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. Chipping around exterior of rim. A thin, 4 1/4" Y-shaped crack ascending base on front from an approximately 4" x 1 1/4" tight spider line on underside. Staining to surface. A small in-the-firing iron ping on reverse. H 8 1/4".
