Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "JULIUS NORTON, / BENNINGTON VT," circa 1840, highly-ovoid jug with tapered spout molding, brush-decorated with a flower emanating from a curving, leafy stem with looping flourish accented with spots. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. Surface with staining and a few small, in-the-firing flaws. H 15".
