Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "F,T, WRIGHT & SON / TAUNTON,MASS.," circa 1870, semi-ovoid jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a branch. Cobalt "2" above. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. Excellent condition with some light surface wear, minor staining and an in-the-firing fissure to edge of lower handle terminal. H 14".
