Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J. NORTON & CO / BENNINGTON VT," circa 1860, semi-ovoid jar with applied lug handles and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a floral spray with large central flower accented with swags. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. An in-the-firing ping to proper right handle. Small chips to inner rim for lid. A small chip to interior of rim. Some light staining. Bottom edge with a minor chip and tiny nick. H 11 1/4".
